For an interesting and educational experience participate in the very popular Night Tours of Melbourne General Cemetery. The final repose of many famous identities, Melbourne General is one of Australia’s most important cemeteries. Our guides will outline many aspects of its fascinating history.
Some memorials included on the tour are Frederick Baker (Federici) the famous Princess Theatre Ghost, Marcus Clarke the notable writer of For the Term of his Natural Life, Sir Redmond Barry, the judge who sentenced Ned Kelly to hang, prominent goldfields artist S T Gill and ill-fated explorers Burke and Wills.
All tour proceeds are used for cemetery maintenance projects.
